British media: 'Arsenal shows interest in PSV defender'

1 min read

Last Tuesday, Arsenal reached the Champions League final for the first time since 2006. At the home Emirates Stadium, The Gunners were 1-0 too strong for Atletico Madrid, and after last week's 1-1 in Madrid, that was enough to earn a place in the final of the billion-dollar competition.

In addition, Mikel Arteta’s team leads the Premier League and is eyeing the first league title in 22 years with three matches still to play. The North London side has a five-point advantage over Manchester City, but the Blues from Manchester still have one match in hand.

Now the British medium Sportsboom brings the news that Arsenal could be interested in Yarek Gasiorowski. Earlier this week, news also came out that, among others, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are interested in the young Spanish defender.

According to Sportsboom, The Gunners have also already made a bid of 25 million euros for the centre-back. Arsenal would see in Gasiorowski the ideal defender for the future.

Earlier, news emerged that PSV would want to secure at least forty million euros for the defender who was brought in last summer from Valencia CF as a replacement for the departed Olivier Boscagli. However, due to inconsistent performances in the second half of the season, Armando Obispo was given the nod a few times over the Spaniard.

PSV look so much more dangerous when they keep it simple in midfield. If this tactical focus sticks, we can punish teams before they set their block.

I like the way the article talks about pressing from the front, but I hope they fix those moments where we get bypassed in transition. The shape has to hold for 90 minutes.

The mention of the fullbacks getting forward is what I want. When they time the overlap right, it turns every wide ball into a real chance.

Not fully convinced. The article sounds optimistic, but PSV still need more end product when the play slows down. One or two extra killer passes would change everything.

Honestly, the best part is how PSV are building chances instead of just relying on talent. This is the kind of football that can win you tough matches in big moments.

I'm glad they highlighted ball retention, because that is where PSV can control games. If the next step is sharper finishing, I think we are genuinely scary this season.
