1 min readThrough a very nice little film, he was announced as the new striker for next season. Donyell Malen has, in just six months, made a great impression, and so AS Roma decided without any problem to transfer 25 million euros to Birmingham, where he played for Aston Villa.
The good form of Donyell Malen has now also become a matter of concern for national coach Ronald Koeman. His competition for the striker position, Memphis Depay, is not one hundred percent fit heading into the World Cup and so a starting spot for Malen is in the offing.

Malen moved in winter to Rome and scored plenty for AS Roma. In eighteen matches, he found the net fourteen times in Serie A, while the Roman club secured qualification for the Champions League.
Koeman followed Malen closely. "Take that with you. We also have two friendly matches to see that. Not only confirmation of Malen, but also confirmation of the other boys", Koeman said about Malen, who was announced on X in the item below as the new striker for Oranje and perhaps also for the Netherlands national team.

Memphis niet 100% fit is nogal een adempauze voor Malen, maar goed dat Koeman het wedstrijdplaatje voorop zet. Malen die andere kwaliteiten brengt, oké... maar ik ben benieuwd of Oranje daarmee ook durft te combineren of weer te veel op loopacties gaat leunen.
25 miljoen voor Malen... dat is geen gok, dat is wél vertrouwen. Koeman die zegt "positief hoofdpijndossier", tbh dat voelt als Malen alvast op weg naar de basis.
25 miljoen voor Malen en dan Roma zonder probleem... dat is echt onbeschrijfelijk. Als Koeman zegt dat fitheid de sleutel is, snap ik wel dat Memphis moet hopen op herstel. Maar ja, Malen had gewoon momentum, dus hij gaat kansen krijgen.
Koemans quote over "positief hoofdpijndossier" is grappig, maar tbh ik snap het wel. Malen heeft in 18 Serie A wedstrijden 14 goals, dat is geen hype. Memphis kan wel talent hebben, maar als fitheid niet top is dan is Malen nu gewoon de spits. ⚽
25 miljoen voor Malen is gewoon bizar snel te vertalen naar het veld. Als Koeman Memphis nog niet honderd procent heeft, dan is dit echt de logische call voor Oranje. 👀
