Trainer without a club on the national team coaching position of Peter Bosz

1 min read

After Ronald Koeman announced last week that he would step down as national team coach, many names are again being mentioned as possible successors. Among them, Arne Slot and Pep Guardiola are mentioned by many fans as national team coach.

The name of Peter Bosz is also being mentioned more and more, despite the fact that Bosz extended his contract in February of this year through to mid-2028. Even after the end of PSV’s friendly match against Royal Antwerp FC last weekend, the current PSV coach did not want to go into the national team coach role too much.

''It's nice that my name is mentioned. In the world of football you never know,'' Bosz said to VoetbalPrimeur.

Also Maurice Steijn, former coach of Sparta Rotterdam, does not expect that Bosz will become national team coach. ''It seems as if he is leaving the door slightly open. On the other hand, I also can't imagine him becoming coach of the Netherlands national team. He renewed his contract two months ago. He's super successful and I don't think PSV would allow that. That gives me the idea that it's not going to happen'', says Steijn in the programme Het Oranje Café on SBS6.

Still, the former coach of Sparta has the suspicion that Bosz might yet be keeping speculation going. ''Maybe he does it on purpose too. I think he's a great guy,'' Steijn said.

WIE denkt de verdediging dat ze staan? lol. If the article is right about the defensive setup, then it explains the goals we concede from second balls 💀

I dont get the love for the wing rotation, it looks pretty but the end product is mid. Cody Gakpo has to get more direct and not keep drifting into the same pocket every time 🔥

If PSV are really pressing this high, i swear it better not turn into free counters. Last few matches showed we get punished in transition when the midfield is a step too late 👀
