These PSV players will be in action on Thursday night at the World Cup

The first group matches of the 2026 World Cup in North America have now all been completed. On Thursday, it’s time for the second group match for every participating country at the global finals.

For PSV goalkeeper Matej Kovar’s Czech Republic, the honor is to kick off the second matchday of the group stage. Kovar and company play at 6 p.m. Dutch time in Atlanta against South Africa.

Both countries are hungry for victory since Czechia, despite an outstanding Kovar in the first match, lost 2-1 to South Korea and then, after two red cards, lost 2-0 to co-host Mexico. Especially for the Czechs, a win seems necessary since Mexico faces them in the third group match.

In Pool B as well, the second match is played. At 9 p.m. Dutch time, in Seattle time it is time for the match between Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina of Esmir Bajraktarevic.

Both countries did not go beyond a 1-1 draw in their first match. In the second half, the Bosnians managed to get away with a point against host Canada, while the Swiss did themselves a disservice with a draw against Qatar given the number of chances the Alpine nation squandered.
