Croatian midfielder refers to Perišić
1 min readThe duel between England and Croatia in Houston was very entertaining to say the least. Both teams went into the break with a 2-2 score and in the end it was the English who took victory at the end of the match (4-2).
Despite the defeat for the Croatians, there was a part played by PSV's Ivan Perisic just before halftime. Perisic was slipped in deep just in time, and the PSV player decided to head the ball back to Petar Musa, who ultimately managed to score the 2-2 behind goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
For Perisic, this assist meant a record. Along with Lionel Messi, the PSV player is the only player to have managed an assist at four different World Cups.
Perišić, in fact, already played at the 2014 World Cup, the 2018 World Cup and the 2022 World Cup on behalf of Croatia. This achievement is also not overlooked in the Croatian media.

''This man simply does not give up. He was good again, especially in an attacking sense'', writes the outlet 24Sata, which despite this is also somewhat critical. ''But he also gave the impression that he sometimes forgot to defend. James, Bellingham and Madueke flew on that side'', says the daily newspaper.

Headed assist to Petar Musa was Ivan Perišić's 12th goal involvement at the World Cup (6 ⚽️ & 6 🅰️), which means he now has at least twice as many WC goal involvements as any other Croatian player (Mandžukić & Šuker on 6).
