Sven Mijnans: 'Memories I will never forget'

Sven Mijnans has been able to officially call himself a PSV player since last Monday. Mijnans is coming over for an amount of thirteen million euros from AZ and is thus PSV's first summer signing.

The midfielder has played for Alkmaar Zaanstreek since the summer of 2023 and won last season the KNVB Cup, in which Mijnans was the big standout in the final against NEC (5-1) on behalf of the Alkmaar side. In an interview with AZ's official club channels, the midfielder has meanwhile said goodbye to the club.

''AZ has given me the chance to further develop myself at the highest level. From my very first day, I felt incredibly welcome here. I’ve met great people, played fantastic matches, and made memories that I will never forget'', so Mijnans says to AZ’s club channel.

Then the newly crowned PSV player goes into the highlight he experienced in Alkmaar. ''Winning the cup with AZ is without a doubt one of the finest moments of my career'', the midfielder says clearly.

In addition, Mijnans AZ will miss. ''Together with the supporters, my teammates and everyone within the club, we have achieved something special. The free kick from which I scored against Galatasaray is also one of the highlights. Of course I will miss AZ, but this also feels like the right time to take on a new challenge. I want to thank everyone for the trust and the support. AZ will always have a special place in my heart'', said the newly signed PSV player.
