PSV youth player praised: "Technically incredibly good"
1 min readIn October 2025, Noah Fernandez made his official debut for PSV’s first team during the away win against PEC Zwolle (0-4) and since then the young Belgian has been a regular in Peter Bosz’s squad. At the start of this calendar year, Fernandez started for the first time in the starting lineup in the home match against NAC Breda (2-2).
The eighteen-year-old midfielder made his debut this season in professional football for Jong PSV and has been part of PSV’s youth academy since he was seven. Fernandez was then taken over from Lierse SK.
Rini de Groot, former head of youth scouting at PSV, was just as impressed by the young Belgian as a Belgian scout would be. ''Well, we were like that too at a talent day when he came to play. He’s really a lovely footballer,'' De Groot tells the Eindhovens Dagblad.
The former head of youth scouting saw it immediately: sitting in Fernandez. ''Nice and bold, without it having anything arrogant about it. Technically incredibly good. The talent was impossible to miss, and he played with us in almost every age group one level higher, because he could handle that. A name that has always had the circle of great promise around it'', he continues.

Fousi Krouchi, another scout on behalf of PSV, then took Fernandez back and forth to the club in the first years. ''People often don’t realize what kind of sacrifices young footballers and parents have to make in order perhaps to become a professional one day. I can tell you: Noah really has earned reaching where he is now, even though everything is only starting for him now. And he understands that very well himself. He is a fine, down-to-earth person, with great ambitions'', Krouchi tells the ED about this.
