Journalist VI on transfer deal Saibari: “I can’t imagine it will end up becoming fifty plus.”

1 min read

It may seem like a matter of time before the transfer of Ismael Saibari from PSV to FC Bayern Munich is completed, but still there is a bit more that needs to happen. PSV is demanding a record fee for Saibari, who is currently preparing with Morocco for the World Cup in North America.

Saibari himself is also paying attention to a transfer to Der Rekordmeister and, in principle, only a personal agreement between the midfielder and FC Bayern stands in the way of a transfer. In the “Rondje WK” section of voetbalblad Voetbal International, PSV watcher Tim Reedijk, together with Feyenoord watcher Martijn Krabbendam, goes deeper into the upcoming transfer of the Moroccan international.

Both clubs are in talks about the transfer fee for the PSV player. It is clear that FC Bayern is willing to put a record amount on the table to bring the midfielder to Munich.

''PSV is going for a record transfer and it's around fifty million'', Reedijk begins when the upcoming transfer of Saibari is put on the table.

Reedijk also discusses the press conference where Saibari sat next to coach Peter Bosz and said that the midfielder would be worth around €75 million if AZ player Kees Smit is worth sixty million. ''I can remember that press conference in which he sat next to Bosz and Bosz said: 'If Kees Smit has to cost sixty million, then what must he cost? Maybe 75.' I know Bosz probably didn’t mean that literally, because he’s 25 and never got picked. We shouldn’t forget that either'', according to the PSV watcher.

Then Krabbendam joins the discussion. ''Lozano was of course a Mexican international who on that side also represented a lot of value. Saibari, Moroccan international, and as you say 25. I can't imagine it turning into fifty plus, though'', thinks the Feyenoord watcher.

That quote about him being

Bayern paid big before, so if Saibari is seen as a long-term midfield piece, they will go there 🔥

tbh i like the ambition from psv, record fee and all, but "vijftig plus" feels kinda wishful. If he is not clearly 75m level yet, just take 50m+ and rebuild.

If Bayern are paying around 50m, fair, but dont act like 50m is a guaranteed number. If Saibari is really that special, PSV should hold the line and add bonuses. 👀

If Bayern actually pays around 50m for Saibari, that is a massive W for us. But that quote about
