
Former PSV player new assistant coach at Helmond Sport
1 min readFormer PSV player Joonas Kolkka will be the assistant coach of fellow provincial club Helmond Sport starting with the 2026/2027 season. De Kattenmeppers previously unveiled the Belgian Frédéric Frans as the new head coach for the upcoming season.
Kolkka was a PSV player from 1998 to 2001 and during that period was national champion twice. After that, the Finn played for Panathinaikos, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Crystal Palace before returning to the Netherlands in 2005 to go on to play for ADO Den Haag.
After a season at ADO, the former winger played one more season for Feyenoord before featuring for NAC Breda from 2007 to 2011. In the 2011/2012 season, Kolkka was still a player for Willem II, and in 2012 the Finn ended his playing career in the United States, after which he returned to PSV and turned his focus to coaching.
