Former PSV player and world champion fears for the Netherlands national team: “That would still be too soon.”

If it were up to former world striker Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, Brazil would avoid the Netherlands national team in the next round. The former PSV player, who was under contract in Eindhoven from 1994 to 1996, fears that the Seleçao still wouldn’t be ready for a match against the Netherlands.

This tells the story of the 1994 and 2002 world champion against Romario TV of Romario de Souza Faria, also a world champion in 1994 and for many PSV fans the best PSV striker of all time. Romario was under contract with PSV from 1988 to 1993 and achieved, among other things, three national titles.

Yet the former world striker still thinks that his country could go far at the World Cup. ''I think that during the tournament we will get better. We will grow, but we are not ready yet. Japan and Sweden are teams that we can easily beat,'' the Brazilian said.
