Father Noa Lang clear about returning to Italy
1 min readLast summer, PSV said goodbye to Noa Lang and the winger left for Italy to play football at Napoli. Due to a strained relationship with coach Antonio Conte, Lang’s stay in Naples went differently than planned, and partly for that reason the Italians decided to loan the former PSV player to Galatasaray for the second half of the season.
For the club from Istanbul, Lang was a great asset and Galatasaray also captured the national title in Turkey this season. Now the winger is set to face the World Cup with Oranje.
After being selected by bondscoach Ronald Koeman for the global final tournament, father Jeffrey speaks out about his son in the Netherlands national team. ''It all starts at training. You have to show it there, and when you get the chance you have to take it,'' Jeffrey says in an interview with De Telegraaf.
On the left wing, Lang is expected to have to compete with former PSV fan favorite Cody Gakpo, who had a difficult year this season at Liverpool FC. ''"I think Cody (Gakpo, ed.) has been doing very well for years with the Dutch national team. As long as Cody is doing well, Noa has to wait politely for his turn and show it in training. And then grab the opportunity when you get it, and certainly not avoid the competition," says Lang's father about it.

After the end of the season, coach Antonio Conte of Napoli announced that he would be stepping down and, partly because of this, Lang may be waiting for a new opportunity in Serie A. ''Noa is at least looking forward to it. He wants to succeed there. Ultimately you have to let your feet do the talking, so Noa has to do it himself,'' concludes father Jeffrey.

Wie kijkt mee? If PSV start the game fast and keep the tempo, this could be a route to the 3 points. But if we concede first, the whole vibe changes quickly 💀
"more direct" can be a banger or a trap. If the midfield is late to cover, Gakpo and the others will get isolated, and then its just cross and hope. Needs clear roles.
Wie kijkt mee? 👀
Im not convinced by the lineup they mentioned. If Tillman isnt getting on the ball early, we lose that second-wave threat. Give him freedom between the lines and we can actually punish teams quickly 🚀
"We want more control in the pockets" sounds good, but only if the tempo changes too. Otherwise it becomes safe passes and no real penetration. Get the wingers to stretch them and then go 1-2 through the channel, thats peak PSV 👀
Gakpo on the wing and Pepi through the middle would be peak football. I just hope the article is right that they are serious about quick combinations, because we cannot keep playing 6-touch football when the space is there. 🔥
Tbh the biggest question is the balance without the same defensive cover. We know PSV can play, but when the press gets bypassed we look shaky. Ndour and Sangare need to be on the same page, otherwise it turns into chaos 💀
Tbh im more worried about the backline than the attack. If we play higher, our fullbacks have to stay disciplined, and no casual giveaways in the half spaces 🤬
Eens. That quote about taking the initiative is exactly what we need. Go for the second ball, dont wait for permission ⚽🔥
"PSV Inside" finally mentions the build-up issue... thank god. With Ricardo Pepi dropping to link, we can bypass the first press, but only if the wingers dont stay too wide. Otherwise it becomes predictable and teams just block the central lane 😅
lol if the plan is pressing like last season, im not convinced it will work against teams that bait the trap. Still, wingers need to track back or it will be chaos 😅
If PSV start playing slower in possession again, Ajax fans are gonna smell blood. Need Xavi Simons to get on the half-turn and pull their fullbacks out. Defensively im still not convinced the midfield cover is tight enough.
If PSV are really starting with more control in midfield, then Sangare and Veerman have to be on it early. Otherwise we will get punished on the transitions again, and that is been the pattern.
If PSV really shifted that build-up like the article says, i can already see the midfield spaces opening up. Xavi Simons has to be braver on the half-turn or we get stuck again. But hey, if the fullbacks stay higher, it could be fire 🔥⚽
