ED reveals information about transfers at PSV

1 min read

Maybe it has been clear to many PSV fans that there are fewer transfer rumors circulating about PSV compared to previous seasons. Only the interest in Sven Mijnans was unmistakable.

This, according to Eindhovens Dagblad, had the reason that last year the entire list of players PSV was interested in appeared on a public internet website. Partly because of this, PSV decided to intervene.

''Last year, the director of football operations had to learn, to his own astonishment, that his complete purchase schedule for a specific weekend (late June) was posted on a well-visited PSV forum'', as the ED writes.

As a result, PSV’s supporters are being fed fewer transfer rumors, but nevertheless the local newspaper believes this will come to an end soon. PSV, after all, would still be interested in Kodai Sano from NEC, but Sano has set his sights on a transfer abroad.

In addition, the ED knows that PSV is still looking for a central defender and a full-back. In particular, the 21-year-old Sergi Dominguez from Dinamo Zagreb would be an option, and nothing concrete has yet been decided for the back position.

Im not convinced by the lineup suggestion in the article. With that setup, our full-backs will be too exposed and the transitions will kill us. I want to see more defensive work without the ball, otherwise it ends up as a fun but risky game.

Eens. If the article is right and they keep pushing through the half spaces, then Saibari and Tillman better be on the same page, quick passes, no fancy pauses. If it turns into sideways football again, its gonna feel mid fast 💯🔥

"PSV Inside" claiming the fullbacks are the key... i agree but only half. If the right back keeps drifting inside too early, the overlap is dead and the ball goes back slow. We need that direct outlet or it turns into possession with no bite 🤡

Quote from the article: "we need more intensity in the half-spaces". Tbh that is exactly where we look best when the wingers cut inside at speed. If we delay the pass, it turns into dead possession.

That take about our midfield being the key is true, but if Sangare is off the pace again, we suffer. We need control before we try to play pretty, otherwise its chaos 😂

If PSV really start building from the back like the article says, i hope Pepi gets more involved instead of standing too high. That press triggers fast when we lose shape...

If PSV really goes for that high press in midfield, i hope they keep the distances right, because the moment it skips a step, youre getting hit on the turnover. Tbh Luuk de Jong style hold-up might help, but only if the wingers track back properly. 👀⚽
