Analyst convinced: “Of course Guus Til will go along”

Over the past few weeks, a lot has been said about a possible place for Guus Til in the World Cup squad of the Netherlands national team. ESPN analyst and columnist for Voetbal International Hans Kraay jr. is certain: Guus Til will go to the World Cup with Oranje this coming summer.

This said Kraay last Sunday in the program Goedemorgen Eredivisie. ''Nobody has to doubt. Til will absolutely go along to the World Cup'', said the former footballer with conviction.

This season, Til for PSV in 27 competitive matches produced thirteen goals and five assists. Especially the collaboration between him and Ismael Saibari worked out excellently, and as a result, the team of Peter Bosz started performing better over the course of the season.

Also in his column for Voetbal International, the analyst shines a light on PSV's opportunity striker, who interviewed him last Saturday after the match against Ajax for ESPN. ''Guus was very disappointed about the 2-2 draw against Ajax, so I quickly moved on to Oranje with him. Then, fortunately, a smile appeared on his face again; he replied: 'I have been champion three times with PSV. I belong among the best midfielders in the Netherlands. Two months ago I already said that I would be incredibly eager to go to the World Cup. The words of national team coach Ronald Koeman about Til could also prove decisive. ''Til doesn't have to thank anyone if he is selected. He earned that himself at PSV. Ronald Koeman also said on ESPN two months ago: 'With Til you have depth at 10 and with Til you have depth at 9.' Of course, Guus Til will go to the World Cup. Well, that's that, then,'' Kraay said.
