Two French top clubs competing for PSV | PSV hears asking price: “€15 million”

Sergiño Dest, who is linked to, among others, Juventus and Bayern Munich, will leave PSV next summer after three league titles. And so a replacement must be found for the right-back defender. The Eindhovens Dagblad was previously able to confirm that Zakaria El Ouahdi is one of the candidates to succeed Dest.
Recently, Dest said the following in an interview with NOS about his future: “I think PSV is a great club, so the story of another club must be true. But I also want to keep challenging myself. It also has to do with the Eredivisie. I want to be able to push myself every week in a bigger competition and measure myself against the best.”
The defender of the Belgian club Racing Genk is high on PSV’s list, multiple media have already reported on several occasions. According to the outlet AfricaFoot, technical director Earnest Stewart has already been told what El Ouahdi is going to cost: around fifteen million euros.
In the meantime, PSV would have competition from, among others, Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon. Both French giants have concrete interest in El Ouahdi and so this will only drive the price up further. His father, who is also an agent, previously confirmed in talks with Belgian media that ‘talks are being held with clubs from multiple leagues’. It is also reported that the dream competition for the Moroccan Belgian is the English Premier League, but that other major leagues are certainly also options.
The 24-year-old El Ouahdi is known for his scoring instincts. This season, he already has twelve goals and five assists for Genk in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. His contract runs until mid-2028.

Dest saying he wants a bigger league every week sounds like a totally fair move for him, but it's still annoying for PSV. El Ouahdi scoring a lot from defense is exciting though, 12 goals and 5 assists is not normal for that position.
Dest naar Bayern of Juventus zou me niet eens verbazen, maar dan moet PSV wel een echte upgrade pakken. El Ouahdi is all about scoring, ik ben benieuwd hoe goed hij defensief staat en of hij in PSV's gegenpressing past.
I love how PSV gets to sell Dest and still look for a younger, hungry replacement. Maar met Marseille en Lyon erbij gaat de prijs natuurlijk omhoog, Earnest Stewart weet wel dat dat lastig wordt.
15 miljoen voor El Ouahdi voelt als best een hoop geld, maar als Dest echt weg is moet PSV gokken om door te pakken. El Ouahdi's 12 goals en 5 assists klinkt bijna als een winger, dat kan ons rechtsbuitenprobleem meteen oplossen.
