Sven Mijnans is not “super-explosive,” and Peter Bosz fears million-euro transfers for three first-team players
1 min readPeter Bosz saw his team win 3-2 against the Polish club Rakow on Saturday afternoon and also saw Sven Mijnans make his first minutes as a PSV player.
The midfielder who has arrived at AZ is set for an interesting season at PSV, because his name was already circled in red for PSV last season. It actually happened, and so Bosz got to see Mijnans at work in a PSV shirt for the first time on Saturday.
"There are so many new impressions that I’m not going to sit down with him in detail now. Later, at the training camp, there will be room for that and we’ll get stuck in nicely. You can immediately see that Sven can play football and how intelligent he is. He isn’t super-explosive, but maybe that’s precisely why he thinks things through well", the words of Bosz sounded after the 3-2 victory.
Mijnans will normally play in the starting lineup under Peter Bosz, but that is no longer the case for Adamo Nagalo, Joël Drommel and Isaac Babadi. Those players are no longer part of Bosz's plans at PSV. This is reported by the Eindhoven Dagblad.
Eindhoven’s newspaper also reports that Joey Veerman, Sergiño Dest and Mauro Junior could well be on their way out in the coming weeks, something Peter Bosz somewhat fears. 'Within PSV, they are also taking into account that there will still be plenty of interest in Sergiño Dest.' PSV would like to hold talks with the Brazilian Mauro Junior to extend his contract because there are plenty of suitors waiting in the wings.
The financial demands of Mauro Junior and his management will play a major role in the future plans of the Brazilian. Veerman may also be on the verge of leaving, although PSV will continue to hope for his services. No offers for the man from Volendam have yet arrived. 'If he himself is keen to leave and a club pays the clause amount, then the club can, however, do little,' said Eindhovens Dagblad.

"Wil hij zelf graag vertrekken... dan kan de club echter weinig doen" ja hallo, dat is precies het kutscenario. Als Veerman niet blijft en Dest trekt ook nog aan de bel, dan moeten we echt snel schakelen in de markt. 3-2 is nice, maar dit is echt business-time bij PSV.
"Binnen PSV wordt er ook rekening mee gehouden" dat Dest nog belangstelling krijgt. Dat is toch balen, want als de vraag komt met een serieus bedrag, dan houdt PSV de hand niet op. Mauro Junior verlengen zou echt de prioriteit moeten zijn, anders ga je straks weer shoppen in de paniek.
Nagalo, Drommel en Babadi eruit... dat is nogal een schoonmaak. Eerlijk is eerlijk, ik zie liever dat PSV kansen geeft dan dat we namen blijven laten rondlopen zonder perspectief. Hopelijk halen we er direct kwaliteit voor terug en niet alleen 'opvulling'.
Ik snap die zorgen over miljoenentransfers. Veerman of Dest die weggaat voelt als opnieuw een sleutelspeler die je moet vervangen op het moment dat het net beter draait. En als Mauro Junior ook vertrekt op basis van geld, dan doet het pijn, want zijn waarde op het veld is gewoon niet goedkoop.
drommel babadi nagalo? snap de keuze wel maar dan moet Bosz ook doorpakken met diepte op de posities. en die angst voor miljoenentransfers... als dest weggaat en veerman ook, wordt het toch behoorlijk krap. 🔥
Iets te veel "wachten tot het trainingskamp" vind ik. In dit PSV moet je meteen impact hebben, vooral als je hoort dat er transfer-rumoer om Veerman, Dest en Mauro hangt. Als er echt meerdere basisspelers vertrekken, heb je meer dan alleen intelligentie nodig.
Bosz zegt dat Mijnans niet superexplosief is, maar wel intelligent. Dat klinkt alsof we weer een middenveld krijgen dat rust brengt in plaats van sprintkracht. Prima, zolang hij in duels ook echt durft door te pakken 🔥
Mijnans is dus niet "superexplosief" maar Bosz vindt hem intelligent... eerlijk, dat is precies type middenvelder dat ons rust kan geven. Alleen hoop ik dat hij ook durft te versnellen als het moet, niet alleen slim blijft.
