Sergino Dest graces the front pages of Spanish and Italian media: Barca follows his performances with great interest: “PSV wants to keep Dest”

PSV'er Sergino Dest can now surely be called a World Cup standout because his performance against Paraguay was very good. The defender carried out his duties properly, but he could often surge from the flank and thus exert influence on Team USA's good play.

Sergino Dest is expected to have played his last match for PSV, but of course it still has to all happen. That is, the right club will go ahead and make the move and will put 20 to 25 million euros on the table to take Dest over. The Italian top club Juventus seems to have to drop out for Dest because there will be no Champions League football being played in Turin next season.

Dest previously already played for AC Milan and is now also said to be on the radar for both Juventus and Internazionale. Especially with Dumfries' departure, Dest could be a great alternative for the right-back position. Even in Spain, there seems room for Dest on the front pages after his impressive performance at the World Cup against Paraguay. According to SPORT, 'FC Barcelona is already rubbing its hands'.

That of course has to do with the right to twenty percent of the sum that PSV receives in a future transfer of Dest, SPORT points to the contractual obligations between the two clubs. FC Barcelona, Europe’s number one debt club, allowed Dest to leave for PSV relatively easily two years ago in order to balance the salary structure.

Besides Bayern Munich and other Bundesliga clubs, Dest is now also said to be on the radar of several clubs from the Premier League. Interest from Munich would, according to a German journalist, have already cooled off a bit, but that aside. Dest has a transfer clause of 20 to 25 million euros in his contract, which means FC Barcelona may end up pocketing around five million euros in a multi-million transfer for Dest.

SPORT reports, however, that PSV still intends to do everything and will do everything to keep Dest in Eindhoven. The right back is tied down until mid-2028. Whether this will lead to an improved and new contract can no longer be ruled out.
