PSV keen on Internazionale's interest
1 min readLast summer, Joey Veerman was close to a transfer to the English club Brentford, and last winter it seemed Veerman was close to a transfer to Fenerbahçe SK. However, both transfers did not go through and as a result, the midfielder remained with PSV.
Veerman had a strong season and was one of the key players in Peter Bosz’s setup that became league champions for the third consecutive time. Nevertheless, the PSV player was not considered for a place in the World Cup squad of the Netherlands national team.
Now Italian outlet TuttoMercato has come out with the report that Italian champions Internazionale are interested in the midfielder. Veerman can leave PSV for twenty million euros due to a release clause in his contract.
Inter sees Veerman as the ideal replacement for Davide Frattesi. Frattesi may move to AS Roma, where former PSV player Donyell Malen was active on loan over the past half season and had an excellent spell.
Veerman has been playing for PSV since the winter of 2022, when he was taken over from sc Heerenveen. Over the years, Veerman has grown into an important link for PSV and this summer seems to be open to a departure from Eindhoven.

They say Inter want him as Frattesi replacement. That feels like a good move for Joey, but for PSV it is a tactical risk because Veerman is one of those "glue" players. If Frattesi to Roma is real, Inter will move fast, so PSV should negotiate smart.

20 miljoen voor Veerman met zo'n vertrekclausule is gewoon te mooi om te negeren. Maar tbh, Inter in de rij betekent dat Bosz straks echt moet puzzelen, want Joey was de ritmegever.
20 million is a decent amount for a midfielder like Joey. Still, im not sure PSV should sell now, especially with the Bosz system needing his calm on the ball. If they cash out, they better replace him quickly or it will hurt.
If Inter really come in with 20m because of the clause, i get it. But tbh Veerman not even making the WC squad still screams that Netherlands coaches are sleeping on him... who drops him then? 👀
