PSV is targeting Anderlecht and appears to have millions available for a “top transfer”
1 min readPSV would have aimed its sights on Brussels regarding summer reinforcements. While many a PSV fan seems to be worried because no reinforcements have yet been made for the new season, behind the scenes of course work is being done on a whole range of options.
An option seems to involve a seventeen-year-old midfielder from Anderlecht. The talented midfielder is viewed as the biggest talent in Belgium, which means we can speak of a so-called top transfer. It concerns the Belgian Nathan De Cat, transfer journalist Mounir Boualin reports.
How does the journalist obtain this information? From Belgium, sources confirm to Boualin that PSV is hoping to secure De Cat this summer from Anderlecht. The Belgian top talent is seen by Earnie Stewart and his scouting team as 'a real reinforcement' for the midfield. De Cat would have a great future ahead, it is said from Belgium.
However, the question is whether a possible top transfer from De Cat to PSV is feasible. The value of De Cat is estimated by the German outlet Transfermarkt at 27 million euros. The window for a top transfer could be the short-term to mid-2027 contract with Anderlecht.
Anderlecht would be willing this summer to sell De Cat to another club. There has not really been any question for years now of actually developing players at Anderlecht, owing to the level of the club that has declined. PSV would be planning to nevertheless make 'a serious attempt' to bring the young Belgian in. Up to now, De Cat has played 53 official matches for Anderlecht’s first team, in which he contributed four goals and five assists. More later.

"een echte versterking" klinkt mooi, maar ik denk meteen aan de vraag: kunnen we hem nu al laten renderen of wordt het een project voor 2026? 17-jarige, 27 miljoen en Anderlecht dat hem wil verkopen ... tbh it feels risky, but potential is huge. 🔥
If PSV really goes for Nathan De Cat, that is a statement. 27 miljoen is steep though, and im not sure he is worth it unless Earnie and scouting really see an instant role in the midfield. 👀
🔥 als Anderlecht hem deze zomer loslaat, dan is dit wraak-achtig slim. Maar 2027 optie en Transfermarkt-waarde... PSV zal echt moeten onderhandelen, niet alleen "serieuze poging" doen.
De Cat stats (4 goals, 5 assists in 53) klinken ok, maar middenveld is meer dan cijfers. Als PSV echt 27m+ wil betalen dan wil ik dat hij ook druk zet, duels wint en balvast is in de opbouw. Toptransfer hype is nice, haalbaar blijft een vraag.
27 miljoen voor De Cat is echt serieus... maar tbh: als je Stewart "een echte versterking" noemt, moet je ook meteen zien dat hij het tempo naar PSV niveau tilt. Anders is het gewoon weer gokken met jeugd.
