Premier League beckons | In addition to English interest, there is also interest from Germany
1 min readBy now, it is abundantly clear that PSV is set for a busy transfer summer. Ismael Saibari will be leaving for FC Bayern München, and Anass Salah-Eddine will be returning to AS Roma to go for his chance there.
In addition, there is also a fairly good chance that Sergino Dest and Ricardo Pepi will leave PSV after the World Cup as well. The latter was three months ago on the verge of signing a contract with English club Fulham FC, but that transfer was called off at the last moment and so the American striker is still a PSV player.
Now the German outlet Kicker brings the news that Pepi is still attracting interest from multiple English clubs and also from a German club. The forward previously played for FC Augsburg and arrived at PSV in the summer of 2023.
However, the kicker does not say which clubs are involved, but it is clear that the Premier League is again drawing attention to the American striker. Pepi is currently preparing with Team USA for the 2026 World Cup.

In the event of a transfer to the Bundesliga, Pepi will follow his current teammate Ismael Saibari. Saibari is about to sign with the powerhouse FC Bayern Munich.

So Saibari to Bayern, Pepi to the Bundesliga... full Bayern pipeline incoming? 🤡 If that happens, we better use the money to keep building instead of waiting for the same situation next summer.
"Premier League lonkt" is the key line. If Pepi was close to signing in England and now there is German interest as well, that smells like a bidding war incoming. Kicker not naming clubs is annoying, but it probably means negotiations are serious.
"nog altijd interesse geniet" sounds like a negotiation trap, not a done deal. If Bayern get Saibari and Pepi follows, that is a massive statement for their recruitment. But fr, what is the replacement at PSV, because Pepi is not the easiest player to swap straight away. 🔥⚽
Fulham almost had him and now Kicker says Germany is also back in the mix. Honestly, if he has an offer with minutes guaranteed, i cant blame him. Still, ngl it would hurt our depth after Ismael is gone too.
I think its fair to say Pepi has options, but we must not underestimate the risk of selling too early. He joined PSV in 2023 and got moments, yet he needs continuity to become a consistent 20-goal type. Sell only if the offer is truly exceptional, otherwise it can backfire tactically.
If Pepi leaves after Saibari, that is a lot of firepower moving out. But tbh i get it, Premier League and Bundesliga both scream money and opportunity. Lets hope we get a proper striker in, not another "project".
Bro, "Premier League lonkt" again... I swear these links never stop. Pepi preparing with USA for 2026, that timeline screams he wants a bigger stage soon. Still, Fulham almost happened, so why should he not be gone for real now? 🤡
Kicker saying Germany is in the mix is interesting, especially with Saibari to Bayern. If Pepi ends up in the Bundesliga, it could be a proper chain reaction of talent moving up. But then PSV better have a real plan for the striker role, not just vibes.
If Pepi leaves after already being linked to Fulham, thats so peak PSV business. Ngl, i like him as a squad striker, but if the money is right and we can reinvest, its a L or W depending on the replacement. Also Dest feeling an exit this summer? 👀
