German media target PSV and fear for FC Bayern after Saibari’s appearance: 'Not become cheaper'
1 min readFootball-loving Germany has naturally also enjoyed the clash between Morocco and Brazil. As in the Netherlands, in the German media the arrows were also aimed at Ismael Saibari and the upcoming million-euro transfer from PSV to FC Bayern.
With a wonderful strike, Saibari proved once again why Bayern Munich is willing to pay him tens of millions. German media are therefore also enjoying the massively impressive goal against Brazil. ‘This won’t make him any cheaper,’ various authoritative newspapers point to PSV and the desired transfer fee for Saibari.
Saibari and PSV are in negotiations over a multimillion transfer but it is not done yet. The German top club recently already made an offer of €53 million (including bonuses on the table) but PSV would like to receive at least €55 million for the unleashed international.
‘Saibari’s spectacular goal probably won’t have made him any cheaper’, according to Kicker. ‘He coolly lobbed the ball over the Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson. ‘Saibari only touched the ball 33 times, but he was still useful. He completed 92 percent of his passes and carried out his role as a false nine properly’, Kicker analyzes.

‘Saibari caused a stir with a brilliant action in the 77th minute, when he made his way along the right flank, although the attack subsequently petered out. Based on these impressions, Saibari has the potential to become a Bayern player, which he also proved in the direct encounter in January when he scored a spectacular equalizer in the Champions League against Bayern.’
'Powerhouse Ismael Saibari hands out a business card: PSV player won’t need to introduce himself to Bayern anymore in the future', reports BILD, which also believes that 53 million euros will not be enough for PSV.
‘Vinicius Júnior counters the Bayern flirt’, BILD says about Real Madrid forward’s equalizer before halftime. The boulevard newspaper called Saibari’s strike a ‘suuuuuper lob’. ‘He flicks the ball elegantly over the goalkeeper into the empty goal. But the Bayern candidate deals Brazil a heavy blow. He surprised Brazil with his goal.’
BILD calls Saibari ‘an attacking star’, with whom Bayern already has a personal agreement. ‘A fine lob from Saibari’, writes the Suddeutsche Zeitung. ‘He showed why Vincent Kompany would like to bring this man from PSV to Bayern Munich.’ The local Müncher Merkur describes Saibari’s goal as a ‘magical moment’. Die Zeit describes the goal as ‘spectacular’.
And Saibari himself? Sober and cool as always. "We just went for the win. Brazil is a good team, so I think this is a logical result," Saibari told NOS in an interview. "We won the ball and they were very open, so then it’s a matter of running. It was a great pass from Brahim Diaz," said Ismael Saibari, who is presumably still a PSV player for up to a week.

Im ngl, watching PSV at the moment is like brussels sprouts, you hate it at first but then it grows on you. If they fix the turnovers around the half-space, they look scary. 🤡
i know its PSV content, but if you guys keep giving away second balls like that, it will be a long season. 1-2 tweaks and you are back to being scary, ngl. ⚽
Solid point about the press though. I liked how the article frames it, not just chasing, but triggering traps. Still, i want to see the midfield collapse quicker when the 8 turns inside. 🔥
dont get me wrong, i love the energy, but the rotations felt messy in midfield. we won balls, yet lost structure immediately after. smh
"more urgency" is good, but urgency without composure is just chaos. i want better first touches around the box, especially from the wide runner. 💀
Come on... if we keep rotating the front line every game, we lose rhythm. Need at least two weeks of consistency, thats how you get runs and chemistry. ⚽
Imo the standout is that PSV actually created chances through the inside channels, not just crossing. if they can replicate that early next match, we should be cooking. 🚀
Said it before and ill say it again, our build-up is so much better when the ball goes through the middle faster. When it takes too long, teams get set and then its just crosses and prayers. 💯
"PSV need more control in midfield" sounds like a hint at the selection. If the 6 is too passive, we get stretched and the wingers dont get enough cover. tbh thats been the issue lately, not the attack.
the article saying we need "more control" is fair, but control only works if our fullbacks dont overcommit. if we keep leaving space behind, defenders will be on toast. 🔥
If PSV go with that same inverted fullback idea again, i hope it doesnt get exposed on the counter. Against teams that press high, it always looks good for 10 minutes then turns messy. 👀
tbh i like the intensity, but if the build-up stays this slow we will get punished by pressing teams. need the midfield to move sooner, not wait for the wing every time. 👀
