Ronald Koeman praising Philips Stadium
1 min readThe Dutch national team played a number of internationals in the Philips Stadium in history. On 31 March of this year, the stadium was still the setting for the friendly match Netherlands - Ecuador (1-1).
In addition, on September 2, 2011, Oranje booked the biggest victory in history against San Marino at the Philips Stadium (11-0). PSV’s home ground is regularly used as a base for Oranje, just like the Johan Cruyff Arena of Ajax and De Kuip of Feyenoord.
In addition, the Dutch national team will take the field at the Philips Stadium again during the upcoming Nations League after the World Cup. Oranje will play on Sunday 4 October in Eindhoven against Serbia.
National team coach Ronald Koeman has also spoken out about which stadium he prefers for matches of the Netherlands national team. The most comfortable stadium is Ajax's Johan Cruijff Arena, in terms of modern facilities'', the coach says in Evers & Co on Radio538.

In addition, Koeman also speaks highly of De Kuip and the Philips Stadium. ''And when it comes to real football atmosphere, I still think that’s De Kuip. But the Philips Stadium of PSV is also a great stadium to play in. And the stadium of FC Volendam is also great fun,'' said the national team coach.

Love it, Koeman saying PSV's Philips Stadion feels great to play. To be fair, that crowd pressure in Eindhoven is usually legit, zeker tegen Oranje.
De Kuip blijft toch de echte sfeer volgens Koeman, maar Philips Stadion is echt niet mid. Servië in Eindhoven 4 oktober, let's go.
Koeman saying the Philips Stadion is "a great stadium to play" is music to my ears. That 1-1 vs Ecuador shows it still has that edge, even when it is "just" an Oranje friendly. Huge for the club that we keep getting Oranje nights.
