PSV’ers hopes for a better 2026/2027 for himself: “I need to help the team even more.”

Last season, Dennis Man moved from the Italian club Parma to PSV. He had a mixed season in which the Romanian winger alternated strong performances with less impressive displays.

In addition, the right winger had to frequently compete in his position throughout the season with Esmir Bajraktarevic. In most cases, one was given preference over Bajraktarevic by coach Peter Bosz.

In the 2026/2027 season, the Romanian hopes to be able to show more of himself in the PSV kit. The forward tells this to the Eindhovens Dagblad, with Man also having set a few goals for himself in the chase for the fourth consecutive national title.

''Yes, really everything has to be better. More goals, more assists, work harder. I have to help the team even more, but a big advantage is that I know the way of playing better than when I joined. In the Eredivisie, as a striker you either chase your man or the other way around. In Italy it’s mainly all about defending as well as possible. At PSV you also usually have the ball and you regularly have to play against teams that set up defensively'', the Romanian tells the ED.

Still, the winger is generally satisfied with his first season in service of PSV. ''It was a bit of an adjustment after my transfer from Italy to the Netherlands. You are in another country, have new teammates and even live in a hotel for a while. Step by step, the guys helped me to get into the team. I'm grateful to them for that'', Man continues.

The Romanian faced PSV with a few highlights in the Champions League such as the home match against Napoli (6-2) and the historic victory over Liverpool FC at Anfield Road (1-4). In addition, on 5 April, Man became the earliest-ever Eredivisie champion with PSV, since number 2 Feyenoord that day could not get beyond a 0-0 draw against FC Volendam.

''I came to play the Champions League, while in Parma we were satisfied with survival. That is a huge difference. In the group you notice that everyone wants to be champions again, and I understand that. If you are on that flat cart for the first time, like I was in April, then everything in one word is fantastic'' says the right winger candidly.

In doing so, the winger emphasizes that he has no interest in a transfer and that his full focus is on PSV. ''I know nothing about a transfer and I don't think that’s the plan. The main thing is that more Man-goals come this season and that we decide the battle with Feyenoord, Ajax or a outsider in our favor again,'' said Man.
