Myans sees differences: “I’m just really happy to be here.”
1 min readSince last week, Sven Mijnans may officially call himself a PSV player. Mijnans has come over from AZ for thirteen million euros and has meanwhile also already logged his first minutes on the pitch for PSV.
Last Saturday, the midfielder in question made his unofficial debut during the friendly match PSV - Raków Częstochowa. PSV ultimately won 3-2.
In conversation with PSV’s club channels, Mijnans says he is happy to have ended up in Eindhoven. ''I'm in a new environment, in a new team, and I'm just very happy to be here. The club facilities are top, so in that respect I'm glad to be here,'' says the newly signed PSV player.
The midfielder also talks about a busy week. “Everyone wants to sit with you and know how things are going and what is customary for you. So you have a lot of conversations, which means you also end up staying at the club a bit longer. In short: I’ve just had a busy week,” Mijnans continues.
The midfielder also notices many differences between PSV and AZ. ''I am a year older, so I keep developing. But it is also a matter of seeing how PSV's style of play suits me. The details are different than at AZ, so that is something to adjust to and a lot of talking,'' says PSV's first summer signing.
In addition, Mijnans is already talking with his new teammates. ''And you also talk to other guys about what their qualities are and what mine are. You work on that together and then hope that you quickly get used to each other'', concludes the midfielder.

Tbh het beste deel is dat hij meteen over aanpassing en praten praat. Dat betekent dat hij tenminste niet blind instapt. Als PSV Raków met 3-2 wint en hij z'n eerste minuten maakt, dan zit de energie er al in. 👀
"Nieuwe omgeving... heel erg blij om hier te zijn" is nice, maar ik ben vooral benieuwd naar hoe snel hij het PSV-tempo pakt. De details zijn anders dan bij AZ, prima, maar ik hoop dat hij niet te lang nodig heeft om het spel te lezen.
"Iedereen wil met je zitten" herkenbaar hoor, maar ik ben benieuwd of hij daar straks ook in het veld nog tijd voor heeft. Veel praten is prima, maar PSV moet vooral snelle keuzes zien. Zo niet, dan voelt het al snel mid. 💀
13 miljoen voor een middenvelder en dan meteen in de oefenwedstrijd al minuten pakken, dat klinkt als een plan. Als hij die "details zijn anders dan bij AZ" ook echt vertaalt naar het spel, dan is dit w een goede transfer. 👀
13 miljoen voor Mijnans voelt als een slimme koop, als je meteen z'n mentaliteit ziet. Die drukke week en overal gesprekken hebben klinkt herkenbaar, maar tbh ik wil hem nu gewoon vaker zien in de wedstrijdgroep. 🔥⚽
