Johan Derksen has news ahead of the Johan Cruyff Shield: “If he whistles…”
1 min readLast week, news emerged that football referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38. In doing so, Johan Derksen told Today Inside Oranje about the relationship between the family of the deceased referee and Danny Makkelie.
Makkelie would not, according to De Snor, be welcome at Dieperink's funeral. That said Derksen on Sunday evening during Vandaag Inside Oranje on SBS6.
''I think Makkelie will get further into trouble, because he is not welcome at the funeral of Dieperink'', says the bearded analyst after table companion Valentijn Driessen had expressed his annoyance about Makkelie’s farewell letter to FIFA after the Dordrecht native had to go home.
''Why not? There’s going to be a scandal unlike anything anyone’s seen before. In any case, the Dieperink family finds Makkelie unwelcome at the funeral. There has been all sorts of things that has happened that we still know nothing about'', Derksen continues.

Driessen recognizes the story of the bearded analyst. "What Johan says, I’ve also heard," says the journalist from De Telegraaf.
After that, Derksen comes with information about a possible appointment of Makkelie for the match PSV - AZ in the battle for the Johan Cruijff Shield on Sunday, August 2. ''And one more thing: if Makkelie whistles the Johan Cruijff Shield, the family of Dieperink also does not want a moment of silence to be observed,'' says De Snor without any doubt, and presenter Wilfred Genee responds to that: ''Well, that's pretty intense.''
Referee Bas Nijhuis is perplexed. ''I'm standing here wondering. We haven't heard anything about it,'' Nijhuis said.
Then Driessen brings up the column by Hugo Borst. ''He throws something into the world of which I think: you shouldn't do that. There is more going on, that’s true. It was very well prepared by Dieperink. The cause is probably not only the screaming man during the practice match of Go Ahead Eagles,'' says the reporter, after which Derksen says: ''It’s going to come out.''
