Is Napoli still moving? National coach points to PSV: “For us, a simple choice”

The Czech national team coach Miroslav Koubek is full of praise for the PSV player. ''For us, Matej was a straightforward choice. He plays for a top club; with PSV, he wins the Dutch league title. He plays in the Champions League. And he has already played a number of difficult matches for the national team, so he has experience,'' the coach said to the Czech media after the match against Ireland.
During the World Cup, Kovar will play with his country in Group A. Czech Republic will face the co-host Mexico, South Africa and South Korea. It could also be a special summer for Kovar, because the goalkeeper is drawing the strong interest of Napoli, which has not yet made anything concrete for Kovar, but has nevertheless been linked to a transfer to Napoli by multiple Italian transfer journalists.
Kovar also follows in the footsteps of former world goalkeeper Petr Cech, who for many years was the regular goalkeeper for Chelsea and the Czech national team. ''I naturally love Petr Cech. We are at the same sports agency office and so I’ve had a few chances to speak with him. He is one of the best goalkeepers ever'', PSV player told Voetbal International last calendar year.

Voor mij is de grootste winst dat hij niet alleen shotstopper is, maar ook ervaring meeneemt uit moeilijke wedstrijden. Dat combineert perfect met PSV voetbal en een Champions League mindset. ⚽
Kovar die twee strafschoppen pakt tegen Ierland... dat is geen toeval. Voor mij was de kritiek vorig seizoen vooral focus, maar als je zo presteert onder druk dan ben je gewoon CL-waardig. Als Napoli echt komt, snap ik het wel.
The thing i liked most is the quote about experience in the national team. That should help in Poule A too, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea is a mix where saves matter. Kovar stepping in like that after the Cech vibes is kind of poetic, not gonna lie 👀
Tbh i love dat hij onder druk staat in Tsjechië en het ook echt toont. Als Napoli komt vragen, dan snap ik het wel, maar laat hem nog die CL-avonden pakken met ons. 💯
Tbh wel logisch dat Napoli hem in de gaten houdt. Als hij zo doorgaat in het WK en PSV blijft winnen, dan is dat ineens een heel realistische stap.

Die zin van bondscoach Koubek is eigenlijk keihard: ''eenvoudige keuze'' omdat hij bij PSV speelt, CL keepte en ervaring pakte. Ik snap de lof, maar bij ons mag hij dan ook wel eens minder klunzen in de competitie doen, dan is het echt feest. 👀

Kovar getting that "simple choice" from Koubek is huge, tbh. He already stopped pens vs Ireland and then again vs Denmark, thats real nerves under pressure. If Napoli comes, i get it, but i also want PSV to keep him another season.

Tbh Kovar wordt echt onderschat onder PSV-fans. Die hattrick aan saves in de play-offs tegen Ierland en Denemarken was gewoon topniveau. Napoli-link klinkt als een logisch volgende stap als hij dit doortrekt bij Tsjechië. 🔥
