Is a deficiency a mindset? No place anymore in Peter Bosz’s selection.
1 min readPSV left on Monday for a training camp in Germany until Friday, July 24. In the process, midfielder Isaac Babadi, who was active last year on loan for Royal Antwerp FC, did not travel with Peter Bosz’s squad. How is it that this very talented footballer is no longer in Peter Bosz’s plans?
Babadi is training for now with Jong PSV and Bosz also has no place for the midfielder in his squad who made his debut in the first team of PSV in 2023 under the current coach. At the time, Babadi was, among other things, good for the opening goal against Sturm Graz in the Champions League qualifiers.
Despite this, the midfielder couldn’t live up to the high expectations and last season Babadi was therefore also loaned out to Antwerp. There, the current PSV player managed only seventeen league appearances. So is it then a lack of mentality on Babadi’s part? There are sometimes rumors going around at and around De Herdgang about the midfielder’s perhaps limited mentality.
In Belgium, too, the PSV player failed to impress and in the second half of the season the midfielder had to rely mainly on substitute appearances. As a result, he returned to PSV, where there no longer seems to be a future for the midfielder.
Babadi still has a contract until 2028 and PSV would be willing to cooperate on a new loan period. A definitive transfer is also certainly not out of the question.

Jammer. Die goal vs Sturm Graz was echt een momentje. Maar als hij opnieuw geen toekomst ziet bij PSV, dan is een verhuurperiode naar een club waar hij starterswaarde krijgt echt de enige route. 👀🔥
"Geen plaats voor overbodige middenvelder" lees ik dan als: we hebben nu andere profielen nodig. Als contract tot 2028 blijven we hem misschien gebruiken als project, maar ik wil echt progressie zien, anders wordt het weer een doorstuurverhaal. 🤬
Jammer, maar ook logisch. 17 wedstrijden en dan reservebeurten, dat is imo niet het niveau dat Bosz nu zoekt. Laat hem nog een jaartje op huurbasis knokken en dan pas zien of hij in de PSV-rol past. 👀
"Geen plek over" zegt genoeg. Wel zuur hoor, want dat doelpunt tegen Sturm Graz was echt banger. Maar als het daarna niet doorpakt (en contract tot 2028 blijft), dan moet PSV gewoon realistisch zijn en hem verhuur-gedreven ontwikkelen. ⚽
Bosz zegt eigenlijk gewoon: geen plek voor 'overbodige' middenvelders. Dat is niet perse hard, maar PSV moet nu selecteren op impact. Babadi kan nog waarde hebben via een nieuwe verhuur, maar dan moet hij wel basis halen en niet alleen meedraaien.
Tbh als Bosz al geen plek ziet, dan is dat eerlijk gezegd geen verrassing. Babadi kon in België ook maar 17 competitie-duels maken en in de tweede seizoenshelft vooral bank. Als hij nog een verhuur kan krijgen om minuten te pakken, dan is dat beter dan hem "laten staan" bij Jong.
iemand die niet mee op kamp gaat voelt al als een oordeel. 17 competitie-duels bij Antwerp is niet slecht, maar het is ook niet "doorpakken" op niveau. Zonde, want die openingstreffer had echt iets.
Tbh snap ik Babadi niet echt in Bosz zijn plan. Als zelfs die CL-goal tegen Sturm Graz je niet op een plek zet, dan wordt het lastig om door te breken. Hoop wel dat Jong PSV hem laat knokken voor tempo en duels, want talent zit er.
