Former PSV player trains for the time being with the Jong PSV squad selection
1 min readFormer PSV goalkeeper Yanick van Osch is looking for a new club since the goalkeeper has left RKC Waalwijk as a free agent. As a result, Van Osch is currently training with the Jong PSV squad for the time being to keep his fitness level up.
The goalkeeper previously played between 2005 and 2020 in PSV’s youth academy and made his debut in professional football in 2015 for Jong PSV. Phillip Cocu decided to add the goalkeeper to the first team in 2017, but an official debut for PSV’s senior squad never came.
In the summer of 2020, Van Osch left PSV and signed as the goalkeeper for Fortuna Sittard. In Sittard, the former PSV youth player was the regular choice between the posts for two seasons.
During the 2022/2023 season, the goalkeeper lost his starting spot to Ivor Pandur and, in the summer of 2023, Van Osch moved to SC Cambuur. After a year in Leeuwarden, the goalkeeper moved to RKC Waalwijk.
With the Waalwijkers, Van Osch were relegated from the Eredivisie in 2024/2025. The goalkeeper was initially designated as the first-choice keeper, but then suffered a severe injury, meaning he barely saw any action.
During the play-offs for promotion to the Eredivisie, Van Osch still grew into a penalty hero against Roda JC Kerkrade. Nevertheless, RKC failed to secure promotion to the Eredivisie.

ngl vond ik het bij RKC altijd spannend, maar als hij door blessures nauwelijks stond, dan is het nu vooral weer opbouwen. Moet Jong PSV dan extra investeren in wedstrijdfitte backs, of kan hij dat zelf dragen in training? 👀
Tbh beetje jammer dat hij bij Fortuna wel 2 jaar vaste keus was en daarna steeds weer moest vechten om basis. Met RKC uit de Eredivisie na die zware blessure snap ik dat het lastig was, maar penaltyheld zijn zegt ook dat hij mentaal sterk is. Dit voelt als een frisse herstart. W
Ben benieuwd hoe lang Jong PSV hem kan 'gebruiken' als keeper. Als hij vooral conditie op peil houdt, prima, maar ik vraag me af of Jong PSV dan niet net zijn eigen doorgroeiers moet laten spelen. Die penaltyheld-status tegen Roda JC is wel echt een highlight. 👀
Oké, logisch dat Van Osch nu bij Jong PSV mee traint. Hij heeft wel jaren in dat PSV-systeem gezeten en is nu transfervrij, dan wil je scherp blijven voor een nieuwe club. Hopelijk komt er snel een kans bij een club waar hij weer wekelijks kan keepen. 🔥
Toch wel netjes dat hij na alle omzwervingen zo snel ritme probeert op te pakken. Penaltyheld tegen Roda JC laat zien dat hij momenten kan pakken, maar keepersniveau is natuurlijk totaal anders per week.
Ik snap het idee, transfervrij en dan alvast bij Jong PSV trainen. Maar wel benieuwd of Jong PSV echt een keeper nodig heeft, of dat hij vooral conditie draait.
