"Iedereen ziet Denzel Dumfries als een geschikte opvolger" lol, finally some real fight. At PSV he already acted like a leader, so i wouldnt be shocked if he starts barking orders at the back too.
Ik vind het wel een beetje opvallend dat de centrale verdediger dan niet de kandidaat is, terwijl het over opvolging gaat. Dumfries is een verdediger/wingback, maar als het om 'de rol' gaat, zou ik toch eerder een speler kiezen die vaker opbouw en spacing stuurt. Maar ok, als AD dit zegt, zal er intern veel draagvlak zijn.
Na Marokko was het bij Oranje vooral mentaal geklap. Dumfries als aanvoerder kan helpen, maar Virgil als captain was ook een rustpunt achterin. Dumfries is meer vlammen dan vakjes vullen, dus imo moet hij dan wel goed omringd worden in de verdediging. 🤡
Eens. "zeg maar wat er moet gebeuren aan mediaverplichtingen, ik ga voorop" is echt peak leiderschap. Als je van Denzel dat gedrag durft te verwachten bij Oranje, dan kan dat de boel bij elkaar trekken. 💯

Als je leest "iedereen ziet Denzel Dumfries als een geschikte opvolger", dan denk ik direct dat het team hem vertrouwt. Nog sterker is die quote over mediaverplichtingen, dat klinkt als iemand die anderen bij de les houdt.🔥
tbh i snap de keuze wel, maar ik ben benieuwd hoe Dumfries het in balbezit en organisatie doet als aanvoerder. Op het WK liet hij juist vooral energie en attitude zien, dat is mooi, maar je hebt ook controle nodig. 👀
If Van Dijk stops, Dumfries makes sense as a voice in the group. But tbh captain is also about calm control in big moments, and i would still want to see if he can bring that consistently, not only in anger.
Denzel als captain voor Oranje als Van Dijk stopt klinkt logisch. Hij heeft die swagger, ook als het tegenzit. Bij PSV ook al vaak gezien dat hij verantwoordelijkheid pakt, niet wegkruipt.
ngl Dumfries als captain zou wel passen, vooral met die houding na die uitschakeling. Als hij zegt "ga voorop" dan voelt het iig als leiderschap, niet als postuur.
