Bosz wants three reinforcements for PSV; chance for top talent is growing
1 min readPSV wants to strengthen itself in multiple positions this summer. The Eindhoven club is looking for a successor to the presumably departing Ismael Saibari, a replacement for the injured Jerdy Schouten and, in addition, an extra wing-back.
Saibari appears to be making the switch to Bayern Munich as of July 1. The transfer fee that PSV will receive gives the club room to make targeted investments in new players. According to club watcher Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad, the focus there is mainly on signing midfielders.
However, within the club they also look at solutions from their own youth development. In that context, the name of Noah Fernandez comes up regularly; he is seen as one of PSV’s greatest talents.
"PSV will in any case want a replacement for Saibari, a replacement for the injured Jerdy Schouten and an extra full-back", writes Elfrink. "During the coming period, steps must be taken in that direction. Coach Peter Bosz is looking at that together with technical director Earnest Stewart not only at the transfer market, but also at possibilities within the youth academy."
PSV has seen multiple promising talents leave over the past few years. Among others, Jason van Duiven, Robin van Duiven, Dele Thomas and Isaac Babadi chose to take another step in their careers. Within the club, this is why there is a desire to offer youth players faster prospects for playing time in the first team.
That could open the door for Fernandez, who may become more explicitly involved with Bosz’s team selection next season.

If they reinvest the Saibari money smartly, this window can be a banger. But i still want Fernandez getting minutes, dont hide the kid behind transfers.
Bosz wanting a wing-back AND a midfielder feels like a plan with logic, but the squad depth scares me. If we rush it, we will have rotation issues again by December. 👀
They keep saying "replacement for Saibari" but what i really want is someone who can carry the ball into danger like he did. Give Fernandez minutes too, imo he is one of our best assets.
If Saibari goes to Bayern, that money better turn into a proper midfielder, not another "maybe he fits" signing. Schouten being injured means we need control, not just vibes.
A replacement for Saibari + Schouten being injured is already two clear issues, and then you add a wing-back, that is a lot. Hopefully Bosz doesnt just buy to fill jerseys, he buys for the system.
