Analysts praise Saibari and point to Brazilian defender: “What did he think?”
1 min readThe transfer of Ismael Saibari to FC Bayern München is now complete. After a strong season at PSV, Saibari is now therefore making a top transfer to Germany and the midfielder is currently active at the World Cup with Morocco.
In the first match of the Atlas Lions, it was Saibari who put Morocco ahead 0-1 against five-time world champions Brazil. In the end, it was still 1-1 in the first half through a goal by Vinicius Junior, and ultimately this was also the final score.
So there was a big role reserved for Saibari, since the midfielder was immediately on target at his World Cup debut. Also on Vandaag Inside Oranje, there is praise for the performances of the departing PSV player after his appearance against the Brazilians.

Johan Derksen also watched the performance by Gabriel against Morocco in disbelief, and Derksen also thinks that the defender has underestimated Saibari’s qualities. ''I also got the impression that Gabriel thought: who the fuck is Saibari? That he didn’t take him that seriously'', Derksen says.
Additionally, the analyst believes it is a good thing that PSV sells the Moroccan international to FC Bayern. “I understand that those Dutch clubs prefer to sell players to teams abroad. In the Netherlands, there is no club that can pay that amount for him,” said De Snor.

Als valse spits starten en dan meteen trefzeker in je WK-debuut, dat is echt niveau. Ik denk wel dat PSV blij mag zijn dat Bayern dit pakt, want in NL kan niemand die bedragen bolwerken.
Selling Saibari to Bayern is the right move financially, but i still hate seeing him go. Its crazy that in NL no one pays those numbers, so you have to be smart. Still, that goal vs Brazil is peak PSV development.
Tbh Derksen and Van der Gijp are right. That cameo finish felt like he underestimated him, because Saibari was everywhere and Gabriel didnt know who to deal with 👀
Die quote van Van der Gijp over die "honderd miljoen voor die voorstopper" slaat wel raak. Tbh Gabriel stond te kijken alsof hij Saibari niet serieus nam, en dan word je meteen afgestraft.
Gabriel really looked clueless in that situation. If you leave your guy that free when he is basically playing in between the lines... yeah, you get punished.
