Analyst convinced about a PSV fan: ‘This kid can compete at a very high level’
1 min readAnalyst Theo Janssen from Ziggo Sport is greatly enjoying the FIFA World Cup thanks to PSV mainstay Ismael Saibari, who after the tournament will be leaving for FC Bayern Munich. Saibari has already been on target at this World Cup against Brazil (1-1) and Scotland (0-1).
Janssen is extremely impressed with the midfielder. ''He is unstoppable going forward. He is strong, he is fast, he is two-footed, and apparently he can also head the ball. He is technically skilled and can get past a man. This kid has all the prerequisites to make the next step'', the analyst tells Ziggo Sport.
After the World Cup, Saibari will leave the club after a strong season at PSV. According to the former midfielder, that is nothing more than logical.
''He is 25, that is an age at which you can make the step and perhaps even must make it if you want to have a great career. I think he can do that too. This young man can compete at a very high level,'' Janssen said.
The former footballer is also convinced that Saibari could easily play for Real Madrid. ''He is well-suited for Germany. If Real Madrid turns, he does that there too", concludes Janssen. "I am convinced of that, because he has those qualities'', concludes the former pro.

Theo Janssen zegt "naar voren toe is hij niet te stoppen" en tbh zie ik dat bij PSV ook al. Als hij na de WK pas begint met de volgende level, dan is dat gewoon scary voor de rest van NL. 🔥
Ik snap de hype, maar ik hoop dat PSV dit seizoen eerst zijn rol in balans houdt. Als je hem 25 minuten op topsnelheid jaagt, maar hij terug naar ritme moet, dan hangt er ineens veel aan de rest van het middenveld. Wel: tweebenig en koppen kunnen, dat is zeldzaam 👀.
Saibari tegen Brazilië en Schotland was echt overtuigend, 1-1 en 0-1 zegt genoeg. "Naar voren toe is hij niet te stoppen" klopt gewoon, hij loopt echt als een mes door de verdediging 🔥. Als Bayern hem pakt is het voor PSV tegelijk pijn en een compliment.
Saibari is echt op dreef dit WK. Dat tweebenige en snel vooruit gaan is precies waarom we hem koesteren, maar snap ook dat Bayern straks toeslaat... 😬⚽
