Aad de Mos praises PSV target: “He’s going to continue to develop”
1 min readIt is now clear that PSV has a busy transfer summer ahead. Ismael Saibari will leave for FC Bayern München and Anass Salah-Eddine returns after a year to AS Roma to fight for his chance there.
In addition, there is also still the question of where Mauro Junior’s future lies. Mauro has a buyout clause of twelve million euros in his contract, and as a result there is a possibility that the versatile Brazilian will play in a different kit after the summer than PSV’s red-and-white.
PSV also has a great interest in midfield player Kodai Sano. Sano had a strong season with NEC, which, under Dick Schreuder, reached the Champions League qualifying stage, and the Japanese player is therefore attracting interest both at home and abroad.
Aad de Mos is impressed by the Japanese player who is not in the World Cup squad. ''I’ve seen NEC a number of times this season, at the invitation of Wilco van Schaik, and I’ve been watching Sano. A crazy player. Feyenoord may not need him, but Ajax...'', De Mos says in the podcast Heet van de Herdgang for Het Eindhovens Dagblad.

NEC would like to collect more than fifteen million euros for the midfielder and, according to the analyst, that is not entirely unjustified. “Twenty million? Well. He’s going to keep developing. You have to assume that he’ll develop even further with you and, just like those other Japanese players, can move to the Premier League. Kamada, that kid from Crystal Palace, isn’t really any better than Sano,” De Mos said.
The former coach believes that the Japanese player often plays the ball forward and therefore also thinks that Sano would be an excellent fit for PSV. ''Peter Bosz also pays attention to that. This won't be a postman like Frenkie de Jong. Sano can play it through in one go. That makes it more surprising, faster. That's what you need in the football that Bosz wants to play. Such a position in midfield is very important in his system. Sano could play there very well,'' concludes the analyst.

"Hij gaat zich verder ontwikkelen" klinkt als muziek, maar die 15+ mil blijft idd spannend. Als Sano echt die forward pass heeft zoals Aad zegt, dan past het bij Bosz meteen. Lijkt me een slimme aankoop, mits PSV niet gek wordt met de prijs.
