Transfersome still higher than 20 million euros? “27 million euros”

The future of Joey Veerman has become a hot topic now that the end of the season is nearing. It is virtually certain and it is almost certain that the midfielder will leave PSV at the end of this season, but which club?

Veerman seemed this winter to be close to an agreement with Fenerbahçe, but the midfielder decided at the last moment to block the transfer himself. In the Willy&Rene podcast, Willy believes Veerman should not do business with a Turkish club again this summer. "At the moment, I wouldn’t mind if he goes, although on the other hand he may also stay. He shouldn’t go to Turkey, he should play in England, or here", the brothers say critically.

René is joining in with Willy's words and believes that Veerman squandered his chances for the World Cup in the Toppper against Ajax. That may be stated sharply, but the fact is that Veerman did not play a particularly good match right away. "He has definitely played himself out of the World Cup squad on Sunday; it was very clear. Besides, there was no one on Sunday who was World Cup-worthy. In a top match you can't play like that. But we're champions, so it actually doesn't matter anymore."

Willy and René van der Kerkhof would therefore not mind if Joey Veerman leaves Eindhoven this summer. The 27-year-old midfielder has been making it no secret for some time that in the future he would like to take another step. Not only Fenerbahçe, but also Brentford has already reported to PSV about Veerman. The sixteen-time Oranje international still has a contract until 2028 in Eindhoven, but above them, the club would have made agreements about a departure from PSV this summer. 

For that, an amount of around 20 million euros is sounded out, which is considered low by the number of PSV fans. However, this is linked to the agreements that have been made with the midfielder. Strikingly, the German outlet Transfermarkt, which often estimates players’ values as being lower, knows that Veerman is worth about seven million euros more than the stated 20 million euros. Transfermarkt estimates Veerman’s value at 27 million euros.
