Bosz looks back on statements by the current PSV player: “He didn’t mean it like that.”
1 min readLast season, after the winter break, PSV experienced a significant slump and, partly because of this, Peter Bosz's team lost the top spot to Ajax. They also lost at home in the semi-final of the KNVB Cup to Go Ahead Eagles (1-2), and to make matters worse, they suffered a painful home defeat against Arsenal (1-7) in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
In this period, Ivan Perisic said at a press conference that at that moment PSV was not a team, and Bosz responds to the statements the Croat made. ''That is one of the reasons why he no longer comes on the media. He will undoubtedly have said it and he will undoubtedly have had a purpose with it. He likely didn’t mean it that way. A foreigner who has to have it translated—it doesn’t help if things like that are said,'' said the coach on Monday evening on Rondo on Ziggo Sport.
Also Bosz received a lot of criticism last year during this slump, but the trainer barely took any of it in. ''That may sound strange, but I didn’t even hear about it. As a coach you’re only concerned with how we’re going to win that match. What Pietje and Jantje think about it doesn’t interest me. You just want to win those matches. If you’re at PSV, an absolute top club, you have to win. Nobody needs to tell me that. I’m not so preoccupied with other people’s opinions,'' Bosz said.
