1 min readArmando Obispo was on his way to leave PSV and continue his career at RC Lens in France. Despite an agreement between the two clubs, Obispo couldn't come to terms with the French himself and as a result, the transfer will not go through.
Last week, De Telegraaf broke the news that PSV and RC Lens had reached an agreement for a transfer for Obispo. The defender appeared set to leave PSV after twenty years, but the transfer fell through at the very last moment.
For this reason, the defender will join PSV’s squad on Tuesday afternoon, who are currently on a training camp in Germany. This is reported by Voetbal International and the Eindhovens Dagblad.
''The deal fell through in the negotiations between the player and his potential new employer. The central defender, who had already made 130 appearances in PSV’s first team, had already said goodbye to his teammates'', VI writes about the aborted transfer.
The expectation is that Obispo will simply still be a player of PSV in the coming period. In contrast to Obispo, however, Nagalo will not join the squad, as VI knows.
''For Nagalo, however, it applies that he does not fit in at Merienfeld, where PSV is staying this week. A solution is being sought for the surplus defender'', the football magazine said.

Ugh, the timing is brutal. Obispo already took goodbye steps and now he is back Tuesday afternoon, while PSV is in Germany for camp. lets hope it doesnt mess with his focus and the backline chemistry 👀⚽
Nagalo being labelled as "overbodige verdediger" is harsh, but if they truly cannot find a move, PSV need to give him a clear role. otherwise this becomes messy dressing room energy 😅
Wie had dit zien aankomen? Tbh ik vind het wel sterk van PSV dat ze hem dinsdag gewoon weer kunnen laten aansluiten, terwijl hij al mentaal weg leek. Al zal het omgeven zijn met spanning, want als Nagalo ook weg moet, dan schuift er dus weer iets in de selectie. 👀⚽
If Obispo is returning with the squad, thats instant depth and leadership in the center back. but i also feel for the coaches, they planned for a Lens move and now the transfer window suddenly rewinds.

So Nagalo stays out of camp in Merienfeld, and they are still looking for a solution. i wonder who gets minutes now if Obispo actually drops back into the lineup.
Nagalo blijft dus niet in Merienfeld, oplossing gezocht. Dat zegt genoeg over de opties achterin, en eerlijk is dit ook wel logisch gezien de keuzes van PSV. Obispo terug is goed, maar ik wil wel weten wie hier structureel de 4e/5e optie wordt.
thank god that Obispo is still there tbh. 20 years at PSV and then it breaks on personal negotiations... thats such a weird way to go out and come back.
"Het liep spaak in de onderhandelingen"... dat is dus echt vooral miscommunicatie met Lens. 130 duels voor PSV en dan zo terug in Duitsland. Wat denkt Lens hiermee te doen, spelers al afscheid laten nemen is echt ongepast.
Ngl, bizar dat het pas op het laatste moment stukloopt. Obispo heeft al afscheid genomen en dan valt het ineens terug, die zal dinsdag wel met een raar gevoel instappen. Hopelijk focust hij nu gewoon en levert hij snel voetbal, want PSV kan die ervaring goed gebruiken.
