This is the big reason why Kodai Sano’s arrival at PSV will be difficult

PSV still has serious interest in Kodai Sano, but the reigning champion of the Netherlands is in danger of missing out. According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, the German club TSG Hoffenheim is getting involved explicitly in the race for the 22-year-old midfielder from NEC.

The need to strengthen the midfield is great for PSV. With the impending departure of Ismael Saibari to Bayern Munich, the long-term injury of Jerdy Schouten, and the uncertain future of Mauro Júnior and Joey Veerman, the champions of the Netherlands must look for new impetus.

In that regard, Sano is still considered an important candidate. However, a transfer does not seem at all easy. "In this case, it is already clear that one of the desired targets will not be easy to sign", club watcher Rik Elfrink writes in the ED about the Japanese player.

According to the journalist, Hoffenheim is willing to reach deep into its pockets for the NEC midfielder. "It is not yet clear whether the Germans can reach an agreement with NEC and Sano, but the offer is tempting." Apparently, an amount of around fifteen million euros is already lined up.

Meanwhile, the situation around Mauro Júnior continues to stir up emotions. The Brazilian is open to a next step and could leave Eindhoven for a fee of around twelve million euros. However, a farewell is not a foregone conclusion yet.

"The battle has not yet been won, because Mauro is doing just fine in Eindhoven. Above all, FC Porto seems like a serious option for him, but staying with PSV could still be a possibility."

Earlier Voetbal International already reported that Fenerbahçe is also working on the arrival of Mauro. The Turkish top club would even be close to a personal agreement with the versatile PSV player.
