PSV talent and cousin Cody Gakpo makes a strong impression on Peter Bosz
1 min readIn the preparation, there is always room for playtime for the present top talents, just as in other seasons. This season too, Peter Bosz is giving several PSV talents the space and the opportunities to make themselves known.
One player definitely stood out this weekend. Gino Verhulst made an excellent impression on Saturday during PSV’s friendly match against Raków. The nineteen-year-old cousin of Cody Gakpo scored the winning goal against the Polish club (3-2). Verhulst played in a position that was new to him. After the match, Peter Bosz explained why he had the young Verhulst play in that position.
Verhulst is an attacking midfielder, but he played on Saturday as a left back, and Verhulst did that very well. "He gets the chance as a left back", Bosz said after the match in conversation with the Eindhovens Dagblad. "We have a lot of tens now in the youth teams, but we still want to give all those boys playing time because they are good footballers and because they can also learn on a different position."
Bosz also looked at Noah Fernandez on Saturday. "We did that last season with Noah as well. If you watch him and compare him to the player from a few years ago, then you see a huge difference. Back then he was still a bit of an annoying little guy; now he has grown up and become a full-fledged selection member," Bosz said.

PSV played two halves of an hour against the Polish side. Verhulst was only involved in the second part of the match.
