No quick return to PSV despite elimination at the World Cup
1 min readOn Monday, 29 June, PSV begins preparations for the 2026/2027 season. Goalkeeper Matej Kovar will not yet be available for this, despite the fact that Kovar has already been eliminated with Czechia at the World Cup.
The Czechs lost on Thursday night 0-3 against host country Mexico and as a result, the country finished fourth in Group A with one point from three matches. Nevertheless, Kovar does not return directly to the training pitch at PSV.
The goalkeeper, in fact, gets at least three weeks off from PSV and can thus focus on a vacation. ''Peter Bosz wants all his players to take three weeks off before they start the new season. That period now begins for Kovar. When his vacation is over, he will rejoin De Herdgang'', writes the Eindhovens Dagblad about it.

0-3 tegen Mexico en dan vierde in poule A... pfff, dat moet ook echt pijn doen. Hopelijk gebruikt Kovar die tijd om mentaal weer scherp te worden, want keepers missen snel ritme 🔥👀
0-3 tegen Mexico en dan toch rust... oké, maar PSV had hem liever eerder gezien. Vooral als de voorbereiding op 29 juni echt meteen doorpakt. Wat is dan het plan voor de keepers in die eerste weken? 🔥
Tbh wel logisch hoor, Bosz die drie weken vrij wil voor iedereen. Maar ik had toch liever gezien dat Kovar eerder terug was, zeker met de start in 2026/27 die al dichtbij komt.
Tbh dit snap ik wel van Bosz. Drie weken vrij voor Kovar is verstandig, maar ik hoop wel dat we snel een duidelijke keeper-setup hebben op De Herdgang. 👀
