Former PSV goalkeeper trains for the time being with NEC
1 min readOn 8 May 2016, Hidde Jurjus still played a major role for De Graafschap in the title race between PSV and Ajax. Jurjus managed with his team to draw 1-1 against the Amsterdam side on the last matchday, which meant PSV were crowned champions after a 1-3 victory over PEC Zwolle.
In the summer, the goalkeeper subsequently signed a contract with PSV, where Jurjus mainly had to make do with a place behind Jeroen Zoet and Remko Pasveer. As a result, the goalkeeper played in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie on behalf of Jong PSV.
In the summer of 2017, it was decided to loan out Jurjus to Roda JC Kerkrade in order to return on loan to De Graafschap in 2018. In 2020, it was decided to sell the goalkeeper to the German club KFC Uerdingen 05.
Then in 2021 the goalkeeper again returned to De Vijverberg to play once more for De Superboeren. After two seasons Jurjus then left for FC Groningen and there was, in particular, the reserve goalkeeper.
Now the goalkeeper may leave the team of Dick Lukkien transfer-free, and to keep his fitness in shape, the goalkeeper will train with NEC for the time being. The club from Nijmegen announced this on its own club channels.
The Nijmegen residents must look for a second goalkeeper due to the departure of Jasper Cillessen and as a result it seems that NEC has settled on Jurjus.

Wait, Jurjus sold to Uerdingen then back to De Graafschap again, then Groningen. bruh this guy has travelled more than my PSV away day playlist 😂. Still, hope he gets a proper run at NEC.
Goal!! wonder if Jurjus will actually get games or stay the understudy. If NEC sign him as second keeper, they must trust his distribution and command, otherwise they will feel it once the cup or injuries hit. 👀⚽

Remember that 1-1 against Ajax with De Graafschap... that still hits lol. If NEC give him the role as second keeper, it's not a disaster at all, just depends on how he handles cup or early-league games.
imo this is a smart low-risk signing. Tranfervrij trainen mee met NEC means he can step in quickly if Cillessen leaves. tbh i would've preferred a younger first-choice, but as backup he makes sense.
NEC getting Jurjus feels smart tbh. He has that experience with pressure like that 1-1 vs Ajax day, and he clearly knows how title races work.
idk man, Jurjus behind the scenes is usually solide, but going from Groningen reserved to NEC, thats a jump. If Cillessen leaves, i just hope NEC has a keeper who can claim starts fast, not just train well.
Crazy to see Jurjus back in the mix. He was basically PSV's backup for years behind Zoet and Pasveer, so NEC feels like a solid "get minutes and prove it" move.
Love the fact NEC is grabbing Jurjus as a second option. His path after PSV with Jong PSV and those loans shows he can handle being patient, even if he is not first choice.
