Former PSV player advises Ronald Koeman: “If you’ve already had enough hassle...”

Next week, national team coach Ronald Koeman will announce his World Cup squad for the Netherlands. The big question is whether former PSV player Memphis Depay is fit enough to earn a spot in Koeman's squad.

If it were up to René van der Gijp, Memphis will stay home next summer. After all, the forward has been dealing with an injury for some time and the question is still whether the striker is fit enough to travel with the team.

Wim Kieft, another former PSV player, does not yet know whether Memphis will not go to the World Cup and, for that reason, the former striker also thinks that Koeman is hoping that Memphis will be fit in time. ''In terms of energy it’s not worth it, but I think Koeman is hoping he can get him fit'', Kieft said.

For Van der Gijp, it is clear who should play in attack for Oranje at the coming World Cup. ''Malen, that is the first striker at the moment,'' says Gijp without any doubt.
