Agent Ronald Koeman, with strong remarks, takes hard shots at Joey Veerman

1 min read

It has been hard against hard for several days already. Ronald Koeman would like nothing more than not to dirty his words with it, but it still happens.

This time through his agent, Rob Jansen. Unnecessarily, Jansen went hard at the way Joey Veerman reacted to missing out on the World Cup in North America. The agent of Ronald Koeman is getting quite annoyed with Veerman.

With fourteen assists and eight goals in the Eredivisie, Veerman has played a crucial role in the league title, but a playoff spot is not in the cards after the failed European championship in Germany.

In the podcast KieftJansenEgmondGijp, Veerman’s absence was discussed extensively. "Joey Veerman, who is disappointed—that’s normal; he should respond differently to the fact that he hasn’t been called up. Instead of acting haughty with a broad smile on his face, he should say 'I’m no longer playing under this national team coach' and 'I’ll just have a vacation with my family'—and react in a way that’s emotionally hurt.", continues the agent.

"He should say 'I find it terrible that I haven't been called up; I'm sick to death of it' instead of that attitude that he isn't interested in all of it", Jansen is hard. According to René van der Gijp, Veerman only puts on a mask. "He feels what you say too, but he doesn't want to show it", analyzes the former footballer. "He wants to show off the tough Joey Veerman", says the regular guest on the talk show.

Jansen is not finished yet and goes after it again. "But he isn’t tough at all. He’s only performing at a decent level for the past two years", he continues, critically. Wim Kieft tries to put himself in the situation of the player who has been dropped and says that he would also find it very upsetting, but that he would simply say that it’s a shame. For Jansen, that measured reaction is also not enough. "That isn’t good either. You can show that you’re pissed off and that you find it absolutely awful that you weren’t selected," Rob Jansen’s harsh verdict says. He doesn’t hold back, and actually goes way, way too far in what he says about Joey Veerman, who in turn has every right to respond as he wants to respond.

Tbh i think the fullback positioning is the difference between a clean game and a disaster. If they get caught too high, the counters will punish them. We have to see the midfield cover first.

If PSV are pressing like this in the first 20 minutes, i love it. But can they keep that intensity when the game gets stretched? 👀

tbh i still dont trust our build-up when the opposition sits compact. we win the ball, but then we hesitate and it turns into sideways passes. need that final switch way quicker. 🔥

If the article is right about us playing higher with the fullbacks, that could be huge. But we better not leave the center exposed when the press gets bypassed. 👀
