Memphis Depay heeft woensdag bij zijn rentree bij Olympique Lyon meteen naam gemaakt.
De aanvaller was na een relatief korte revalidatie meteen trefzeker. Al na 3 minuten scoorde Memphis, weliswaar uit een strafschop. Het betrof oefenduel met amateurclub Us Port Valais. De snel herstelde aanvaller was daarna nog betrokken bij 5 doelpunten.
In december 2019 liep Memphis een kruisbandblessure op, waardoor er werd gevreesd voor zijn EK-deelname. Door de coronacrisis werd het Europese toernooi uitgesteld en dus zijn spelers als Memphis, Malen en Bergwijn er vermoedelijk allemaal bij als het EK volgend jaar zomer in Nederland zal aanvangen.
De aanvaller van Lyon heeft een erg korte revalidatie achter de rug want met amper 7 maanden is de rentree van de aanvaller snel te noemen.
