PSV striker en route to new employer

Attacker Couhaib Driouech is on the verge of trading PSV for Scottish club Rangers FC. With that, after more than two years, the period of Driouech in Eindhoven comes to an end.

In a video by transfer journalist Mounir Boualin of Soccernews.nl, it can be seen that the winger is waiting at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to travel to Glasgow. The forward must first undergo a medical examination before he may call himself a player of Rangers FC.

''I’m looking forward to being medically assessed and hope that everything goes smoothly so that I can put my signature. I’ve heard very good stories about the Rangers supporters. I’m looking forward to getting to experience the fans in the stadium,'' says the departing PSV player, among other things, to Boualin.

In the summer of 2024, Driouech landed at PSV via Excelsior, which paid him about four million euros. Thanks in part to the fierce competition on the left wing, the quick attacker was never an undisputed first-choice starter.

Last season, the winger—coming on as a substitute—was still of great importance in the Champions League match on the road at Liverpool. Thanks in part to two goals from Driouech, PSV secured a historic 1-4 victory at Anfield Road.

In addition, the left winger was also good for a world-class strike in the home match against Napoli (6-2). Driouech ultimately leaves PSV with two league titles and a Johan Cruyff Shield.
