Italian media abuzz with news of a transfer from Juventus to PSV

In addition to Kodai Sano, Filip Kostic was also approved by PSV on Wednesday. Kostic is coming in on a free transfer from Juventus, and that turns out to be somewhat newsworthy in Italy. That is, in itself, understandable. Since the three meetings in one season between PSV and Juventus, Peter Bosz’s team has been under a microscope in Italian media.

The meeting between PSV and Napoli has given it yet another extra dimension, in addition to the fact that players from PSV are regularly in the spotlight of Italy’s top clubs. Kostic is now a PSV player, and that may be quite news in Italy. Nearly all of the major national football newspapers are reporting the arrival of Kostic at PSV.

With that, PSV has finally secured the desired successor to Anass Salah-Eddine. The Serbian arrived at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on Tuesday afternoon, as transfer journalist Gianluca di Marzio reported. Juventus and Kostic didn’t work out on a new contract, which is partly due to not being able to qualify for the Champions League.

The left-back, who between 2012 and 2014 was still playing for FC Groningen, says he is looking forward to his transfer to PSV. Kostic is especially looking forward to playing in the Champions League with PSV.

''It is very important for me to play in the Champions League again. I hope to be ready as soon as possible to help the team. I promise that I will give everything for the club'', says the Serb in the Di Marzio video.

In addition, Kostic also addresses the Juventus supporters. ''To the Juventus fans, all I can say is: thank you for everything. It’s truly a fantastic club where I’ve enjoyed myself. I’ll keep following them and I’ll never forget them'', said the left-footed player.
