“Unnecessary PSV player on the way to Sparta Rotterdam”
1 min readWhere Ayosi Santos from Sparta Rotterdam seems to have moved to PSV, Isaac Babadi appears to be taking the opposite route. This is reported by, among others, De Telegraaf and the Eindhovens Dagblad.
The intention is that Babadi will be rented out to the club from Rotterdam-West. Earlier, it was already clear that there is no place in coach Peter Bosz's squad this season for the attacking midfielder.
Babadi made his debut for PSV’s senior team in August during the won match for the Johan Cruijff Shield against Feyenoord (0-1). A few days later, the midfielder scored his first goal in the match against Sturm Graz (4-1) in the Champions League qualifying round.
Thanks in part to these appearances, a great future for Babadi was predicted, but three years later the situation is completely different. Last season, the PSV player was already loaned out to Royal Antwerp FC, and even there the midfielder couldn’t make much of an impact.
Babadi still has a contract with PSV until mid-2028. In addition to Sparta Rotterdam, Fortuna Sittard was also a candidate to take over the midfielder on a loan basis, as Jeroen Kapteijns of De Telegraaf knows.

Johan Cruijff Schaal debut to loan spell... thats a long fall 💀. Sparta or Fortuna, both could be good, but lets be real, PSV shouldnt be gambling on a "maybe" anymore.
"Geen plek in de selectie" is a brutal sentence, but it makes sense with how PSV wants control and structure. Loan him to Sparta, fine, but we should get a clear development plan and minutes, not a random move.
"voor de aanvallende middenvelder geen plek"... tbh dat klinkt als een Bosz-verhaal maar dan zonder ruimte voor talent. Benieuwd of Babadi daar als nummer 10 kan spelen of dat Sparta hem in een rol drukt waar hij nooit uitblinkt. 🔥👀
Fijn dat PSV durft door te schuiven, maar ik snap het gedoe wel: drie jaar geleden leek hij een key man, nu is het verhuur na verhuur. Antwerp ging al niet zoals gehoopt, dus Sparta is opnieuw een test. Als hij daar 10, 15 wedstrijden echt domineert op middenveld, dan praten we weer anders.
Babadi went from "big future" to back-to-back loans, thats rough 😅. Sparta at least might be a good match, but i hope its not just another stop where he gets stuck on the bench.
tsja, Babadi op huur naar Sparta voelt als echt een omgekeerde ontwikkeling. Hij had die Cruijff Schaal en die goal tegen Sturm Graz, maar als Bosz nu zegt dat er geen plek is, wat moet je dan nog bij PSV verwachten? Hopelijk pakt hij daar weer ritme, anders is het gewoon een dure tussenhalte.
If PSV wants to loan Babadi out again, i get it tbh. Bosz clearly doesnt see him as part of the plan, and after Antwerp it feels like confidence is the real issue.
