The next million-euro transfer is on the way

In addition to the incoming transfers of Kodai Sano and Filip Kostic, it also looks set to be busy weeks on the outgoing transfer front for PSV. It is clear, for example, that Couhaib Driouech is on the list to leave Eindhoven.

Driouech was still brought in in 2024 for about €3.5 million from Excelsior, but thanks in part to the fierce competition on the left wing, he never managed to force his way into a regular starting spot. In the 2024/2025 season, the winger mainly had to make do with playing behind Noa Lang, and last season Ivan Perisic was in that position.

Moreover, talent Amir Bouhamdi was given preference in the duel for the Johan Cruijff Shield with AZ (0-4) over Driouech and, partly due to the return of Ruben van Bommel, it appears that the wing-forward is likely to have lost sight of his chances of playing time at PSV.

Because of this, Driouech, who has a contract until mid-2029, is on the list to leave Eindhoven. Earlier, Italian club Genoa FC and Spanish side Celta de Vigo had already shown interest in the winger, who would have to bring in at least seven million euros.

But that still pinches a bit, because seven million euros for a neo-international from Morocco on hand with a three-year contract plus a handful of classic goals in the Champions League. No, PSV doesn’t get the very bottom out of the cupboard if it would only receive seven million euros for Couhaib Driouech. On the other hand, it also seems that Rangers FC doesn’t have all that much to offer for the forward.

According to transfer journalist Mounir Boualin of Soccernews.nl, RB Salzburg has also shown interest in the surplus forward, alongside Rangers FC. ''Foreign sources report to this website that it is expected that RB Salzburg from Austria and Rangers FC from Scotland will soon make themselves officially known to PSV. At the Philips Stadium, they want to receive the necessary millions for Driouech, who would be open to a possible new step in his career. Both clubs are very charmed by the PSV winger and want to go head-to-head with each other in order to make a serious attempt to try to pry him away from the reigning national champions. Sources from abroad report to us that both clubs want to make themselves officially known to PSV for Driouech soon; that is, at least, the expectation'', Boualin writes on the Soccernews website.

Nevertheless, according to the Eindhoven Dagblad, little is known about interest from RB Salzburg, but the ED does know that Rangers FC has made an inquiry for Driouech. ''Nothing is known about Austrian interest regarding PSV, but Rangers FC is indeed a serious candidate for Driouech'', says the Eindhoven Dagblad about the attacker.
