PSV still hopes for a transfer, but the salary causes a problem

1 min read

Three years after his debut in the first team at PSV, the situation in Eindhoven is completely different for midfielder Isaac Babadi. Babadi had a brilliant debut under Peter Bosz and, among other things, was on target in the preliminary Champions League match against Sturm Graz (4-1) on 8 August 2023.

In the seasons that followed, things went less well for the midfielder for whom a great future was predicted. During the 2024/2025 season, Babadi had to rely primarily on substitute appearances, partly due to the intense competition in midfield.

Last season, the attacking midfielder was already loaned out to Belgian Royal Antwerp FC. That’s where Babadi seemed to be thriving, but in the second half of the season, the current PSV player was barely included in the plans anymore.

Now Eindhoven's Dagblad reports that the midfielder is still hoping for a new loan spell or a permanent transfer. As is known, coach Peter Bosz has no place for Babadi in his squad this season.

In the Eredivisie, among others, Go Ahead Eagles and promoted side Willem II would be interested in the current PSV player. Babadi would be looking at a domestic transfer and preferably to an Eredivisie club, but a step abroad is also not ruled out according to the ED.

For most Dutch clubs, however, the salary of the midfielder is a major problem, according to the local newspaper. Many Dutch clubs cannot afford this salary and therefore a solution must be found.

According to De ED, it is also still a question whether PSV will be willing to cooperate with this. The club does want to cooperate on a definitive transfer as long as a substantial resale percentage is attached to it.
