1 min readEven beyond the senior squad, PSV is busy on the transfer market. PSV has announced that the sixteen-year-old Damian Gomes Ferreira from Ajax is coming to PSV and has signed a contract until mid-2029.
Gomes Ferreira arrives at PSV on a free transfer. ''In Amsterdam, Damian stood out for his creativity and the ease with which he plays between the lines. In addition, he has a precise through ball and is strong with the ball'', PSV writes on its own club channels.
The sixteen-year-old talent has been playing since 2016 in the youth academy of the Amsterdammers, but was allowed to leave after this season. Gomes Ferreira can play both in attack and in midfield and will join PSV’s O19 team next season.

Ajax cant keep all the gems tbh, again PSV nabs one. Dit lijkt echt een typische PSV-zet, jong talent vroeg pakken en doorontwikkelen. Zou wel benieuwd zijn of Gomes Ferreira het tempo al kan dragen in NL jeugd, want tussen de linies is leuk maar rendement moet ook.
Eens. Damian is that type that can play both up front and in midfield, fits PSV's style. But bro, it's still 16 years old, dont make him a hype machine already. Develop, play, improve.

Ajax fans will be fuming again, but tbh PSV has been scouting better the last years. "Creativity between the lines" sounds like a midfielder who can unlock games, not just a dribbler. Still curious how he handles the step up in pace in Eindhoven.
Not gonna lie, this is a smart move from PSV. Taking a 16-year-old like Gomes Ferreira on a long deal until 2029 is exactly the kind of depth we need for the future. If his "sharp through balls" translate in the O19, he could be a problem for everyone.
