PSV pushes on and registers in Enschede and Nijmegen for million-euro transfers
1 min readPSV still seems to want to strengthen the squad with two incoming transfers before the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada. It appears the intention is to add a genuine Eredivisie duo to Peter Bosz's squad.
The million-euro transfer of Ismael Saibari to FC Bayern is meanwhile nearing completion and PSV appears, according to De Telegraaf, to want to move quickly as soon as the blockbuster transfer to FC Bayern Munich has been completed. The club’s management has even already contacted FC Twente and NEC, for Mats Rots and Kodai Sano, respectively. De Telegraaf reports this on the latest developments.
PSV on the midfield not only takes into account a potential departure of Saibari, but also of Joey Veerman and Mauro Júnior, and in particular that last player will be badly missed. The Brazilian can be seen as the cement between the stones. Kodai Sano has been on PSV’s radar for a while, but the club’s management now seems to want to move to push through for the Japanese player.
Mats Rots is also concretely in view to go and follow Anass Salah-Eddine. Still, Salah-Eddine wants to pursue his chance at AS Roma. 'Mats Rots (FC Twente) and Kodai Sano (NEC) are prominent candidates to give the squad an upgrade. The champions have already come forward for both players, sources close to PSV say,' De Telegraaf writes Tuesday morning.

Sano must cost many millions, but PSV seems not to be deterred. The Japanese player still has a contract until mid-2028 in Nijmegen, but NEC actually believes it can ask for 20 million euros for Sano. Only three goals and seven assists in 34 Eredivisie matches, the Japanese player managed to record for a very attacking NEC. That can be called meager.
Mats Rots played for FC Twente in 34 Eredivisie matches, scoring four goals and providing four assists. His contract in Enschede runs until mid-2027, with the option of an additional year. Even for Rots, PSV will have to pay a great deal.

Tbh i like the ambition, but it needs to fit the system.
If they can land both Rots and Sano after Saibari to Bayern, itll be a huge statement. Veerman out and Mauro Jr not there is scary though, that cement comment was spot on. But those numbers for Sano arent exactly a killer output... still, PSV always finds a way to get the best from guys.
