PSV presents new signing who immediately has a first reaction

After weeks of rumors, it is now official: PSV has strengthened its squad with the Serbian Filip Kostic. The 33-year-old Kostic joins on a free transfer from Juventus and signs a two-year contract in Eindhoven.

The left-footed player will play for PSV with jersey number 18. In a press release from PSV, Kostic speaks about his choice for the club.

Also, the fate of his family played a role. ''When PSV made contact, it was immediately clear to me that I wanted to go to Eindhoven. It then still took a while before the deal was finalized, because I was sure that my family would also feel at home here and that the full picture is right. That is absolutely the case. I'm overjoyed with this step'', says the newly signed PSV player on the club website.

Even coach Peter Bosz can count on the necessary praise from the Serb and, moreover, that also played a major role in his decision to join PSV. ''I remember how well the coach always had his teams organized when I played against him. The moment I spoke with him, I noticed that his way of working and playing football fits me perfectly. That made me even more enthusiastic about coming to PSV'', Kostic continues.

For his transfer, the left-footed player had a lot of contact with Ivan Perisic. ''He said every time: come on here, you’ll love it and together we’ll make life difficult for all our opponents. I’m happy that we now get the chance to do that together, and I’m extremely hungry to achieve a lot of successes with this top club. I can’t wait to get to work and above all to let my feet do the talking, because that’s what I like to do most,'' the Serb says.

Technical director Earnest Stewart is looking forward to seeing Kostic play in the PSV kit. ''Filip has proven himself consistently at the very highest level. In everything we see, we notice that he is still incredibly driven and ambitious, and that is exactly what we are looking for. With his quality, mindset and experience, he will add a lot of positive to our squad. We are very happy that Filip chose PSV and we have every confidence that he will be of great value here'', said Stewart.
